There is no-one quite this lady. She is part of the backbone that holds up our fantastic dance scene, and has been delivering the goods for well over a decade. She is a doyen and purveyor of dance music, and a name recognised throughout the world. She is a superstar, she is ANNE SAVAGE. Anne’s seismic stature has been achieved by hard work, perseverance, personality, good looks and ultimately her inimitable talent. She’s a presenter of television and radio, a producer of cross genre music and headlining DJ. A northern lass through and through, she’s retained her grass roots and is unaffected by fame and fortune. In fact, we’ve no qualms is stating that Anne Savage is one of the most personable people you could ever meet. She is the people’s DJ. Anne is most famous for her tough sets, which through the years have amassed an array of different tags. ‘Hard house’, ‘hard dance’, ‘touch tech’, ‘tech house’...you name it, she can do it. A founding member of the ‘tidy girls’, Anne was at part of the explosion that saw the tougher end of music spread around the world. Unlike many other DJs, Anne’s consistent ability to evolve and adapt to change has put her 10 steps ahead of the rest. Always getting hold of the newest, and most ground breaking music available. Fellow DJs know that if Anne Savage has their music, and it’s good – it’s gonna get aired on a global scale. She is the only resident female DJ on Ministry of Sound’s rapidly growing radio network, playing LIVE every Thursday between 7pm and 9pm, where you can hear Anne playing her usual style, and her alter ego style – the hugely in demand Dumb Blonde. Tune in to listen live, or listen again – www.ministryofsound.com/radio
Anne’s growing popularity over the years led her to appear in an episode of Channel 4’s acclaimed ‘Faking It’ series, which incidentally was voted one of the best, and went on to win a BAFTA! ITV were soon knocking on her door and Anne got to present ITV’s DJ Magazine Top 100 programme, aired repeatedly throughout 2005 and 2006. Channel 4 came back and invited her to take part in their ‘Musical Hall of Fame’, where she was crucial commentator on bands such as the Prodigy and Simon & Garfunkel. Production wise she has worked with the best in the business, with a list too comprehensive to write, churning out hit after hit. She’s mixed more dance compilations than any other female DJ, and the requests keep coming in. In fact to add to this, one of Anne’s Euphoria compilations won two awards and sold in excess of 100,000 copies. |
