Click HERE to see flyer Crazy Cousinz was formed in November 2007 as a producer collective consisting of two cousins (Flukes & Paleface) alongside two other members of the team (Kodi – Engineer/Producer & Play – Producer/DJ). Far from an amateur to the music business, 19 year old Flukes (Producer of popular hits such as Fallin – Sadie Ama, Hood Economics – Tinie Tempah and Bang Your Heads – Lil Rascals) has definitely made a huge impact on the UK scene as a whole and earned the status of one of the most versatile producers around. Paleface, a king of Baseline has also already accomplished a lot within the music industry prior to Crazy Cousinz. He’s been DJ-ing since the early 90s, producing since the late 90s and song writing for the last 4 years. Along with Kodi’s ear for perfection and Play’s way with melodies, these guys are destined for big things. The concept behind the self explanatory name was to introduce fresh and exciting music to the rapidly evolving UK House scene. By assembling a team of extremely talented producers and collaborating on original tracks, this has enabled Crazy Cousinz to internally inspire each other and make great music as a recognized group rather than from one source of input. The first release from Crazy Cousinz, a track entitled ‘Bongo Jam’ Featuring Vocalist Calista Robertson who was a housemate in the Big Brother house, (Due for national release October 2008 through Defenders LOS Ent Ltd) has been circulating the underground scene since December 2007 and has had huge positive feedback throughout the media and from DJs, artists, labels and of course, the fans. The track was also used within the Big Brother series, and on ITV’s hilarious Harry Hill’s TV Burp as an ongoing skit throughout an episode. Bongo Jam has recently been play listed on 1xtra, Choice FM and is constantly played on other commercial radio stations such as Radio1, Kiss FM, and Rinse FM. With great feedback from the likes of American R’n’B singer Kelly Rowland ‘I love that record!’, number one hip-hop and R’n’B DJ Trevor Nelson, Grimes King Wiley and DJ Ironik, this track is definitely set to get even bigger! The early support from well established DJs in the Funky House Scene such as DJ MA1, DJ Naughty, Marcus ‘Ayia Napa’ Nasty, Scholar T and Pioneer to name just a few, has allowed the Funky House listeners and ravers as a whole to become increasingly aware of Crazy Cousinz and the first single, ‘Bongo Jam’. Live PA’s and DJ sets at events such as Persona, Red Carpet, My House, Decorum, and interviews on over 100 stations all around the UK and overseas radio with the likes of DJ Cameo, Mista Jam, Scottie B and Rampage in Ayia Napa have also helped expand the Crazy Cousinz as a recognized brand. By March 2008, Crazy Cousinz had accumulated a wide range of house beats. Amongst these tracks lay the two hottest summer anthems for all the holiday islands, ‘Bongo Jam’ and ‘Do You Mind’ (the second release from the boys). The infectious tracks have been doing incredibly well, constantly requested on radio and in the clubs. Both tracks have also been performed with a live band and streamed live on to radio 1 from the infamous Maida Vale studios. Crazy Cousinz have also done a great deal of remix work for a wide number of different labels for Artists including, Jazmine Sullivan, Sadie Ama, Neyo, Natty, Lemar, Jay Sean, Taio Cruz to name just a few. With the requests for the tracks on radio and in clubs continuing, Bongo Jam merchandise such as t-shirts becoming more and more popular, listeners increasing on the Crazy Cousinz weekly radio shows on Rinse FM 100.4 FM Tuesdays 1-3pm, two hot singles for release and planned funky compilation ‘This Is Funky Volume One’ due for release early November 2008, Crazy Cousinz as a force is definitely becoming stronger and stronger. Expect a lot more from the lads in the near future! |
